Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and BSN completed
or in progress.
licensed in the State of Missouri as a Registered Nurse. BLS/ACLS
Five years hospital nursing experience required.
Assists Nursing and Nurse Managers in the supervision of nursing unit activities for the evening,night and weekend hours. Acts as a clinical and administrative resource for staff. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Supervises daily nursing service activities. Assures maximum utilization of human
resources and nursing units under the guidance of the nursing service department and
each nursing units staffing guidelines, policies and procedures.
Effectively communicates with staff, medical staff, managers and administrations as 20
appropriate. Maintains knowledge, interprets and enforces nursing service and hospital
policies and procedures. Supports teamwork within the nursing service department,
each nursing unit and ancillary departments.
Assist in the development of departmental goals and objectives consistent with the
strategic and operating plans for the hospital and nursing service department.
Performs clinical duties as needed.
Assures quality services are provided by identifying and reporting areas of
improvement. Participates in the nursing service department quality improvement
activities. Performs bed placement accurately.
