    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Across all Sisters of Mercy (Mercy) entities, the Inventory Specialist has primary responsibility for requisition processing, daily product sourcing, vendor purchase order negotiations, purchase order placement review, confirmation follow up, receipt quantity invoice resolution and expediting of purchase orders for pharmacy products and services for the Mercy Consolidated Services Center as well as all Mercy entities. The Pharmacy Inventory Specialist will focus on the ongoing service and enhancement of a minimally intrusive and customer focused purchasing process, and performs all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values of Mercy.

    • Experience: 1.Five years experience in a Pharmacy environment 2.Minimum of Three yeasr of Inventory Management, Purchasing, Healthcare or Pharmacy experience.
    • Other: 1. Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms. 2. Ability to work with minimal direction, and accept responsibility as required. 3. Must have a sound knowledge of pharmacy activities and duties, drug terminology and nomenclature, inventory management concepts and tools, computer word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills. 4. Good problem solving skills, high ethical standards, and ability to work with and develop the skills of others. 5. Experience and knowledge of purchasing functions and a materials distribution/inventory computer system. 6. Proficient skills with Microsoft Word and Excel. 7. Strong public relations and negotiation skills (written and oral).
    • Preferred Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
    • Preferred Experience: Three or more years of Inventory Management.
    • Preferred Other: Proficient with Power Point and Access.
