    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Member of the Radiation Therapy Treatment Team who plans, prepares, and delivers prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients, using a wide variety of sophisticated equipment and devices. Performs related duties as assigned.




    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    • Experience: Clinical experience commensurate with successful completion of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology training program.
    • Certifications: Certification in therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
    • Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of modern radiotherapy techniques and equipment. Computer skills as required. Demonstrate skill in compassionate human relations and communication. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Must work around occupational levels of radiation exposure and hazardous materials found in the modern hospital environment. Must be able to walk, stand, push, lift heavy objects as appropriate to maintain optimal patient care. Communicate in English language. Equipment Used: Linear accelerators, computer network, radiotherapy simulator, CT scanners, and other patient care equipment.
    • Preferred Education: Graduate of AMA approved Radiation Therapy Technology training program is preferred.
