    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Overview:


    Develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under direct supervision of a polysomnographic technologist RPSGT. Follows Mercy service standards and supports hospital and department activities such as in-service training, process improvement, department meetings, Mercy Health System and departmental Mission Statement, Values, Vision, and other duties assigned as appropriate. Exhibits professional growth and development pertaining to sleep diagnostics. Must be willing and able to work twelve hour shifts on nights/days and week-ends. Works with other team members in ongoing quality assurance, training, patient education and satisfaction projects. Displays a positive attitude toward the learning process with emphasis on meeting the needs of the program and supporting teamwork and co-workers.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Must be enrolled in or actively pursuing the educational requirements set forth in AASM/BRPT guidelines to achieve the RPSGT credential
    • Experience: Prior healthcare experience.
